To celebrate Panto Day’s fifth anniversary, we’re making Panto Day 2015 The Year of the Dame! From Twankey to Trott, these damsels in a dress are the driving force of panto and we’re looking forward to celebrating everything Dame related on Panto Day 2015: Friday 11th December.
This year will see six new Dame articles on the Panto Advice Page as well as a brand new docu-feature all about contemporary Daming. From October 11th – December 11th we’ll also be announcing our #dameoftheday on Twitter and Facebook, so make sure you follow us @Panto_Day and ‘like’ /celebratepanto.
Come Panto Day, we can’t wait to celebrate the UK’s national artform with behind-the-scenes tweeting, special blogs, interviews, Q&As, competitions and of course the return of the global phenomenons which are the #pantopout and #pantoplank.
Theatres up and down the country will be handing out our Panto Day crosswords, wordsearches and colouring sheets and we want to hear all your pantomime memories, stories and jokes as casts and crews join in the celebrations too.
The National Database of Pantomime Performance, now in its third year, continues to grow and work is underway to ensure we capture every professional pantomime of the season.
We’ll be announcing our Official Panto Day Partners shortly, but in the meantime, have fun exploring CelebratePanto.co.uk and we look forward to celebrating panto with you on Friday 11th December.
