Oh yes it does! 2021 marks ten years of Panto Day with the Year of Love.
From true love between Principal Boys and Girls to family love between Dames and Comics, or simply the fact we all love pantomime so much, Panto Day 2021 will see panto love shared across the world.
On Friday 17th December, theatres in the UK will come together to toast the wonderful world of pantomime on social media. From tweeting on Twitter using #pantoday, to posting videos on YouTube and photos on Instagram, screens and stages will be bursting with love as Pantoland opens its doors to all.
Founder of Panto Day Simon Sladen said:
For many of us, pantomime kicked off our love of theatre, so what better way to celebrate Panto Day’s tenth birthday than with the Year of Love? We look forward to exploring why the UK loves pantomime so much and the important role love and family plays in every pantomime narrative. After a challenging year for the industry, on Friday 17th December make sure you join the celebrations to show your love and appreciation for everyone who helps bring the magic of pantomime alive each season.
