With less than a week to go until Panto Day 2014, Celebrate Panto has announced its Official Panto Day Partner Theatres.
The Manchester Opera House, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, Palace Theatre, Kilmarnock, Loughborough Town Hall, The Riverfront, Newport and Hackney Empire will be hosting a range of events and activities as they lead the Panto Day celebrations on Friday 12th December.
The Manchester Opera House, currently home to Priscilla Presley and Warwick Davis in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, will take to Twitter and Facebook with the Opera House’s blog becoming a haven for fashionistas with its panto-inspired Christmas party outfit suggestions.
There’ll be a chance to win panto goodies at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton where Julian Clary, Joe Tracini and the cast of Cinderella will treat panto passionistas to a behind the scenes tour as well as Panto Day blogs and podcasts.
In Kilmarnock, the entire cast of Aladdin will be tweeting their every move from warmup to walk down as a timelapse video captures the day, which will also see audience members receive panto bookmarks, stickers and Panto Day funpages.
Loughborough Town Hall’s staff will swap their uniform for pyjamas for an extra special Sleeping Beauty performance as @LboroTownHall undergoes a Twitter Takeover from the cast and teddies join the audience for the schools’ performance.
In Newport, the Riverfront’s audience will also undergo a transformation as fairytale Fancy Dress takes over the auditorium and the production is live streamed to local hospitals. The theatre will also release a special Dick Whittington Panto Day trailer and use #FlashbackFriday on Twitter to relive moments of pantos past.
London‘s @HackneyEmpire will announce the winner of its fantastic Panto Day Family Ticket competition as well as sharing panto photos, fun facts and much, much more about Mother Goose starring Clive Rowe and Sharon D Clarke.
Panto Day founder and co-ordinator Simon Sladen said:
“Our partner theatres have planned lots of exciting Panto Day activities for everyone to engage with in the theatre and online – there’s something for everyone! We can’t wait to start celebrating Britain’s best loved art form on Friday 12th December!”
